TCI Trainers


TCI Trainers are required to take a TCI Up-date and meet re-certification requirements every two years. Trainers who have successfully completed the Updates called 'Designing Refresher Training" and "Post Crisis Response' are eligible for the one day Updates.

TCI Training Materials

For certified TCI trainers who are conducting direct TCI training, you can purchase copies of TCI Student Workbooks and Certificates of Attendance. Certified TCI trainers may also order replacement copies of TCI training materials in the event that their original copy was lost or damaged

REFOCUS is the newsletter of the Residential Child Care Project, Cornell University. It is a vehicle for communicating information about current issues and events that emerge from work in crisis management and residential child and youth care.

Professional Certification

The second level of certification is the professional level.
Eligibility for Professional Certification

  • Must be certified at the Associate level for a minimum of one year.
  • Must have completed a minimum of 4 direct TCI training programs at 24 hours each.
  • Must have successfully completed the TCI Update: Developing Professional Level TCI Training Skills.
